My Response to Quora “Why Trans Drag Queens allowed to teach children etc”

 Explaining Anyone who wants to educate Kids with positive intentions should not be questioned unless they have demonstrated a reason to assume otherwise.

Quora Question:

Why are transvestite drag queens so interested in children and why do so many parents fail to recognize that this form of entertainment is for adults only and is harmful to children?

My response below: 

That’s because adults do adult things with other adults and that doesn’t mean they can’t do kid-friendly activities when we are educating kids, transgender or not. There are trans people who don’t have any interest in educating kids while others do. The ones that do are simply teaching kids that it’s ok to be different. I am a parent and I am not trans nor LGBTQ and I am extremely comfortable having drag queens read to my kids unless there’s a particular reason other than “this is a trans drag queen” involving some kind of inappropriate action or expression that should make me concerned.

Being trans and what you do for hobby or work has a function none of which involves inappropriate actions against children, and so being a “transvestite drag queen” is not a basis I treat that educator of children unequally. Liking to educate children in itself is a good quality not a bad one. We need more child educators. It’s privilege to be one. That said, it’s IF that person ABUSED that privilege then they don’t deserve to influence kids, and being a transvestite drag queen is not an abuser of anything, their role doesn’t involve the abuse of children.
